reVITAlize, a cross-border project connecting wine folklore and sacredness, has started

The inaugural conference of the reVITAlize project was held on 23 November 2020. Before the conference, media statements had been given in the basement area of the Koprivnica Town Museum because, thanks to this project, the mentioned area will be renovated.

Namely, this is a project financed within the Interreg V-A cross-border cooperation program Hungary-Croatia 2014-2020 which focuses on revitalizing wine folklore and its branding in the cross-border region. The Lead Beneficiary of the project is the City of Koprivnica, while the project partners are the Koprivnica Town Museum and the Hungarian Nonprofit Culture Society of the Mura Region.

The value of the project is almost 7.5 million kuna.

In order to be able to create a permanent exhibition area in the basement of the Koprivnica Town Museum, it is necessary to remove the moisture in the facility, since the mentioned facility was built in the 17th century. Necessary works include external wall drainage, complete removal of the capillary moisture through damp proof injections into the basement walls, and the installation of new utilities. Inside the building, the existing plaster and concrete floor coverings will be removed, and the construction of new coverings and the laying of floor brick tile will be implemented. Also, painting job and the installation of windows will be done. As part of the project, a permanent museum exhibition on the topics of sacredness and viticulture will be set up in the basement and equipment will be procured that will most adequately respond to the needs of a modern museum exhibition in order to develop an attractive tourist offer.

Works on the reconstruction of the mention area will start in March 2021.
